Brighton - West Sussex - England

A lazy Saturday afternoon on the beach.

Home! Who has never woken up slowly on a Sunday morning, to the lovely smell of toasted bread, baked beans and fried bacon and eggs drifting from the kitchen, cannot understand what I mean.

Sunday afternoon in Ditchling. A country pub, exactly what we needed.

A good pint of Landlord ale, lovely fruity taste. Thanks Tim!

Haddock in a beer batter, chips and minty mushee peas. England.

Thank you so much dear friends, for this lovely weekend. Exactly what we needed at the time. Beware, we'll be back.
In the meantime, if you feel like a taste of France, a nice barbecued côte de boeuf for example, you are more than welcome in Théméricourt.

Wonderful!!! Can I also follow the invitation!!!

That invitation to Théméricourt sounds very inviting. Too bad it's only open for your friends in Brighton ;)
PS Will be in Scotland with K. in early June for a week. Definitely going to go have at least one proper fry-up breakfast!

I'm starting to think you have friends all over the world.

I've never gone to Brighton ! maybe one day !

It reminds me my trips to England and Ireland. Looks like you had a great week-end !
I'm jalous for the invitation you made to your friends, I enjoy the "côte de boeuf" !!

That reminds me of a windy day watching my beloved future husband windsurfing at the beach, from inside the car wondering when it would be time for a warm cup of tea...
Anyway, nothing beats good old British fish and chips.

I spent a year in Brighton 6 years ago and it was a real pleasure to "share" your lunch!!!

Wow, to look at your pictures made me suffer! You see, I miss England so much...
I know what you mean about those fragrant breakfasts (bacon, eggs, beans and/on toast)! Scrummy...
Aaahh, and fish & chips with mushy peas, a speciality I dream about all the time!!!

Anonyme a dit…

Oh God! Haddock in a beer batter, chips and minty mushee peas. How dare you Gracianne? I crave for it right now!! Thanks for the trip and the "souvenirs".

What a lovely week end! ;-D

Anonyme a dit…

Sahet, Gracianne, r'sar encore ketch!
R'sar a krar yallah en vacances!

Anonyme a dit…

Anonyme a dit…

oh yes ! baked beans for breakfast is something I really enjoy ! just like sausages, tomatoes and mushrooms (j'adore manger salé au petit déjeuner, j'ai même testé le curry - doux - en Inde, mon estomac a adoré : voilà le remède contre la tourista !!!)... et ce fish and chips copieux me fait vraiment envie (j'en fais parfois, juste pour avoir une bonne raison de manger du poisson) ... quoique celui-ci m'évoque plutôt un petit port de pêche en Ecosse ... Brighton est presque trop ensoleillé pour moi ;)

Anonyme a dit…

Anonyme a dit…

Can I have mine sunny side up, please? And a bit of maple syrup in the baked beans, just for the sweetness of it. A bit of Seville orange marmelade, thick cut, and some tea. Nice post. J'aime particulièrement cette plage... all misty and shimmering in the sun. Have a great week!
